The first batch of products from Taiwan to be displayed at a cross-Straits trade expo arrived in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone on Nov 14.
The products – consisting mainly of food, daily necessities, alcohol and soft drinks - were packed in four containers weighing a total of 18 tons, and they were transferred by the Haixia high-speed passenger ferry.
A customs official said that officers gave this cargo priority and carried out the clearance process as quickly as possible.
The goods are being exhibited at the first Pingtan-Taiwan Trade Expo, which is taking place from Nov 18 to 24 and is displaying 1,000 products and attracting hundreds of businesspeople.
