The Chinese mainland gave Taiwan two pandas - Yuanyuan and Tuantuan - as a gesture of friendship in late 2008, and the pair welcomed a female cub into the world on July 3. The cub, called Yuanzai, who now weighs 8.2 kilograms, has been enjoying the outdoors in Taipei over the last week.
She is apparently quite curious, especially about grasshoppers and the nature surrounding her, and Taipei Municipal Zoo, where Yuanzai and her parents live, said that the cub's explorations will allow her to feel more at home.
Weighing 8.2 kilograms, the cub seems to have grown a larger curiosity, too, as she showed great interests in logs, grass, grasshoppers and everything new to her in the wild environment.
The outdoor exploration will help Yuanzai get familiar with the biology and blend in quicker, according to the zoo.
Many members of the public who saw a recent video clip of the cub and her carer said that they wish they had such a job, and would be interested in doing voluntary work at the zoo.
