Urban management officials in Pingtan county in Fujian province carried out a campaign against illegal structures from September 9 to 15, and they have demolished 62 illegal buildings occupying an area of more than 10,000 square meters in several townships.

The campaign is expected to continue as officials aim to topple another 693 illegal structures - covering a total of more than 90,000 sq meters - by October 15.
