Modern logistics
Pingtan will promote bonded logistics, bonded processing and entrepot trade. It will give priority to the development of low-temperature preservation and third party logistics. The zone will also accelerate the construction of harbor supporting facilities for the evacuation and transport of cargo.
Commercial distribution
Businesses from Taiwan and large international enterprises are encouraged to set up operation headquarters in Pingtan to develop the zone's entrepot trade, electronics industry and commercial services. Monopolistic markets and a logistics industry area connected to the port will be built for Taiwan agricultural products and electronic information products. Pingtan hopes to develop into a transit port for commercial logistics across the Taiwan Straits.
Financial industry
Taiwan-based banking, insurance and securities institutions are encouraged to set up operations in Pingtan or invest in local financial enterprises through equity participation. They are also encouraged to set up collaborative SME credit guaranty organizations and regional re-guarantee institutions. The pilot zone also promotes offshore financial operations for Taiwan, open transactions of NT-RMB exchange, and capital flow across the Straits.
Culture and creative industry
Pingtan will build cross-Straits parks for the cultural industry and collaborative centers for the culture and creative industry to enhance connections with Taiwan. It will also take advantage of cross-Straits cultural resources and develop industries such as modern media, animation and gaming, and creative design. Priorities will also be given to a creative cultural industry chain and the enhanced added value of cultural products.
Convention and exhibition industry
Pingtan will highlight exhibitions with regional features and encourage Taiwan-based enterprises to hold conferences, exhibitions, shows and festivals of all sorts in the pilot zone for cross-Straits cooperation in the convention and exhibition industry.
