Jinjiang South Station will be built in the city's Yonghe town with construction starting in December, according to town chief, Wang Xinhong.
The Fuzhou-Xiamen Passenger Dedicated Line (PDL) runs 296.58 kilometers through Fuqing, Putian, Quanzhou, and Jinjiang cities, with Jinjiang's section to be 26.29 km. It will be designed for double track operation with a maximum operating speed of 350 kph. Surveying work finished at the end of last year, and at present, drilling and preliminary design is in progress. The work is expected to take around five years.
Taking advantage of Fuzhou-Xiamen PDL, Yonghe town plans to develop a 10-minute commercial area around the station to increase convenience for the locals and visitors.
