Fuzhou enters a new era
Updated: 2010-09-17

On September 12th, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits and Straits Exchange Foundation jointly declared that the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) were put into effect, ushering in a new era of full cooperation and mutual trust across the Straits.

The ECFA is sure to bring benefits to both sides across the Straits in terms of economy, cultural exchange and cooperation in various kinds. This year’s CIFIT (China International Fair For Investment and Trade) has already won Fuzhou 227 projects, involving 20 from Taiwan, worth 1.945 billion US dollars. In the near future, chances are that the new era will create a win-win situation across the Straits—in other words, a situation that is beneficial to both the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, China.

The signing of the ECFA opens a new door to cooperation across the Straits, which will do good for the integration of natural and human resources and cooperation among all related industries.

About ECFA: The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) is a preferential trade agreement that aims to reduce commercial barriers across the Taiwan Straits. The pact, signed on June 29, 2010, in Chongqing, has been seen as the most significant agreement to enhance cooperation across the Straits in terms of economy, culture and so on and so forth.
