The Fuzhou City Middle-Level Court has officially employed 20 local Taiwan businessmen to be guest mediators for cross-Straits civil and commercial cases, beginning April 13.
“With more and more exchanges and communications between Fuzhou and Taiwan, the need is growing for judicial services from Taiwan people who live in Fuzhou,” said Zheng Xiao, head of the Taiwan affairs office of Fuzhou city.
Zheng also spoke highly of the system of employing Taiwan businessmen to be guest mediators for cross-Straits civil and commercial cases in Fuzhou, which is beneficial for the cross-Straits relationship.
The 20 guest mediators are all principal managers of Taiwan companies in Fuzhou. Most of them have run businesses in the Chinese mainland for years, and are well-acquainted with the laws and regulations of the mainland.
Since 2008, the Fuzhou Superior-Level Court and Fuzhou City Middle-Level Court have dealt with 2512 cross-Straits civil and commercial cases.
