Tech heavyweights to attend national digital summit

Numerous business leaders of China's tech heavyweights including Ma Huateng, chairman and CEO of Tencent Holdings and Li Yanhong, CEO of Baidu Inc have confirmed attendance at the upcoming second Digital China Summit.

Slated to be held in Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province from May 6 to 8, the conference will be a platform for China's policies on IT development, showcasing the achievements of e-government and the digital economy and the exchange of theoretical and practical experiences in building a digital China.

This year's edition will have wider coverage and focus more on interaction, with 12 sub-forums to be held covering sectors including e-governance, digital economy, smart society, big data and the industrial Internet.

According to the organizing committee, a total of 498 projects involved in the digital economy with an investment of 407.5 billion yuan are expected to be arranged during the event.

On top of Ma and Li, the presidents of China's three mayor telecom carriers, China Mobile, China Telecommunication and China Unicom, are also set to attend.
