China should strengthen property right protection for private enterprises, said Li Yuefeng, deputy to the 13th National People's Congress, during the ongoing annual legislative session in Beijing.
Li noted that many private enterprises in China are small and medium-sized businesses, which play an important role in the country's economy.
According to statistics, SMEs account for: up to 99 percent of the country's total number of businesses, more than half of China's GDP, 60 percent of industrial production, 60 percent of sales revenue and exports, 40 percent of total tax paid and 75 percent of the jobs in China.
Li said that improving property right protection for private enterprises is significant for the sustainable development of the country's economy.
