Fuzhou's GDP hits 710.4 billion yuan ($112.9 billion) in 2017, up by 8.7 percent year-on-year, reported Fuzhou Evening News Wednesday, citing the statistics from local authorities.
The per capita GPD for the city maintained an annual growth of 7.6 percent to stand at 93,290 yuan, 9,814 yuan more than the previous year's figure.
The per capita disposable income reached 32,561 yuan, an increase of 8.4 percent over the previous year, but the income gap between its urban and rural residents is still immense.
Viewed separately, urban and rural per capita disposable income in 2017 reached 40,973 yuan and 17,865 yuan, respectively, up 8.3 percent and 9.3 percent, according to the Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics.
The city also reached a milestone in the process of urbanization in the past year, with its urban permanent residents topping 5 million, accounting for more than 70 percent of its population.
Fuzhou, situated in the eastern part of Fujian, is the capital city of the coastal province.
