Yudo, a large new energy auto manufacturer based in South China's Fujian province, launched its first pure electric SUV, Yudo π1, on August 29.
Based in Putian, an emerging port city in Fujian, Yudo is among the eight new energy vehicle (NEV) makers in the province.
The newly released model has gained a wide popularity right after hitting the market. The orders for the Yudo π1 has reached 32,000, most of which are placed by domestic car sharing companies including Yidu and YiKaiChuXing.
In 2016, Fujian manufactured 50,000 NEVs in total and generated 21.2 billion yuan in gross output value, 41.3 percent up over 2015.
