Shishi native Cai Pingping was invited to present her wedding dresses at the 2017 Shishi Fashion Week as part of the collaborative show produced by the city’s fashion designers association.

This happened two years after Cai started her own studio for wedding dress design at the end of 2014. Before that, she was a fashion design graduate of the China Academy of Art and worked for famous brands based in Shanghai and Hangzhou.

Cai is one of the young, aspiring fashion designers who came to Shishi, China’s garment industry hub in the southeastern Fujian province, to find opportunities for their careers to take off.

Cai’s innovative wedding dress designs have earned her a strong reputation in Shishi’s menswear-dominated garment industry. Cai has enough orders for customized wedding dresses to keep her busy until the end of the year.
