Smog will linger in north China while heavy rain will hit south China in the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Wednesday.
The country's weather observatory said that moderate smog will continue to shroud parts of Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces, as well as Tianjin and Beijing municipalities on Wednesday and Thursday. Visibility will be reduced to less than 500 meters in parts.
The NMC also forecast that rainstorms will sweep areas to the south of the Yangtze River in the coming three days.
Heavy rain will hit parts of Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces, as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Precipitation will be as high as 110 mm in 24 hours.
