By Oct 27, a total of 389 companies had confirmed attendance at the 6th Cross-Straits Machinery Industry Exposition in Longyan, East China's Fujian province on Nov 8-10.

The 40,000 square-meter expo will include 2,000 booths, said Mao Gaoliang, vice mayor of Longyan, at a press conference on Oct 29.

The event will display autos, engineering machinery, machine tools, laser-cutting equipment, robots and auto parts. Leading Longyan companies will bring their latest machinery and auto products.

This year's expo will highlight a 1000-square-meter "Internet Plus" pavilion to promote Longyan's online businesses.

Since its launch in 2010, the annual event has become an important platform to showcase the Chinese mainland and Taiwan's machinery, and has helped boost the machinery industry on both sides.
