Some express delivery companies in Fuzhou, Fujian province are now requiring real names when sending packages.

Shunfeng Express and Shentong Express now only accept real-named parcels. Other logistics companies require the delivery person to open packages to make sure no illegal or dangerous objects such as alcohol and drugs are inside.

"All packages will be opened for inspection and go through X-ray scanning before moving to distribution centers. The whole process is monitored," said a Shentong courier.

From Oct 22 2015 to the end of March 2016, the central government will carry out a nationwide campaign to regulate the express industry.

The Fuzhou post bureau plans to roll out detailed regulations to increase the security of express delivery services.

The majority of citizens have expressed support for the real-name system, while some were concerned about the security of personal information.

"The new system can improve logistics security but it may disclose senders' personal information," a woman surnamed Lin said. "If senders are required to show their ID cards, their personal information will be disclosed," she added.

The post authorities said they will destroy express bills regularly and will require each express delivery company to set up a safety committee and a punishment system to prevent privacy leaks.
