The first to take up residence were 314 divers and 70 judges from across the country for diving competitions scheduled from Oct 9 to 15.
The NYG is the largest sports meeting ever in Fujian, with more than 7,300 young athletes aged 14 to 18 from 80-plus cities coming to compete from Oct 18 to 27.
Over 300 sports events will be held during the period in all nine prefectural-level cities and the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, with more that 60 percent of them to be staged in Fuzhou, the capital city.
The organizers worked hard to prepare accommodation in the village, with outstanding results.
Xiang Yang, a veteran member of the Shenzhen diving squad, said he was impressed by the venues and accommodation, adding that he and his teammates will do some training in the next few days to familiarize themselves with the venues.
Over 80 volunteers will offer various accommodation services for the diving competitions.
