The Xiamen government has issued price caps for hotel rooms in the city during the upcoming 2015 China International Investment and Trade Fair (CIFIT), which will be held at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Centre from September 8 to 11.
The price ceilings will be implemented from September 7 to 9, including bookings for all three days.
According to the price table, the maximum price of a standard room in a five-star hotel will be limited to 880 RMB per night, 780 RMB in four-star hotels, 650 RMB in three-star hotels, and 350 RMB in two-star hotels.
Meanwhile, Xiamen has tightened the price limits on suites in hotels this year. The maximum price of a suite should not be more than double that of a standard room in any hotel. That means the maximum price of a suite in five-star hotels will be less than 1,760 RMB.
More than 20 Silk Road countries, including Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, have been invited to attend this year's fair. A cross-straits belt-and-road cooperation and exchange event is also scheduled to help Taiwan enterprises get involved in the strategy.
The first session of the China-New Zealand Mayors Forum will also be held during the CIFIT, with the two countries each sending 14 mayors to attend the forum.
