Residential buildings are threatened by floods triggered by continuing downpours in downtown Shunchang county, Nanping city, Fujian province, July 3. Torrential rains since July 2 have pushed up water levels in tributaries of the Minjiang River, the biggest river in the province, and flooded northern areas. Meteorological authorities have issued a yellow-coded rainstorm alert which forecast that the rain would linger in coming days and warned of possible disasters such as landslides and cliff collapses.
