The fourth “Common Homeland” Forum will convene from June 14 to 16 in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province, authorities said on May 27, ptnet.cn reports.
As part of the Straits Forum, the “Common Homeland” Forum is an occasion for politicians, entrepreneurs and scholars from across the Taiwan Straits to discuss the development of Pingtan, which aims to be a perfect place for Taiwan people to live and work in the Chinese mainland.
The forum has become an important brainstorming platform for Pingtan’s progress over the past three meetings.
There will be other events to go along with the forum, including interaction between villagers in Pingtan and Taiwan, an entrepreneurial alliance of cross-Straits youngsters and business promotional fairs.
The forum will display Pingtan’s achievements in reform and opening-up, and will enhance Pingtan’s reputation, said Li Dejin, director of the PCPZ’s administrative committee.
