A worker has been pulled out of from under a pile of debris after being buried for nearly two hours at a construction site in the city of Xiamen, on March 4, taiheinet.com has reported.
The victim has been identified as a 60-year-old man surnamed Zhang who was trapped when some sand and earth caved in at a trench near Tianma Rd in the Jimei district at around 4 pm.
Fortunately, there was a narrow gap between two large rocks that came down, giving him temporary shelter, though he was almost completely buried in sand when firefighters came to the rescue at 5:40 pm. He also suffered a minor fracture in his right leg.
The cause of the collapse is being investigated.
