Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian province, launched a volunteer recruitment system for the first National Youth Games to be held in the city from October 18 to 27, 2015, the Fuzhou Evening News reported March 1.
The city plans to recruit 10,000 urban volunteers – local residents mainly, who will take part in such volunteer servicesas providing consultation, traffic guidance and first-aid at 60 volunteer service stations from May to October, according to the executive committee of the event.
The online recruitment system includes a WeChat account (hifuzhou) and an official website (http://qyh.helpyou.cn/). People can apply for the urban volunteer program through either platform between March 5 and May 5. They can also apply at the volunteer service stations at the Sanfangqixiang Ancient Community, Fuzhou Railway Station, Gushan Mountain Scenic Area, Wanda Plaza in Cangshan district and Dongjiangbin Park in Mawei district.
Apart from urban volunteers, the committee will also recruit 6,000 games volunteers, most of whom will be selected from local undergraduates. They will be engaged in the language services, reception help, event publicity, technical support and medical care.
