A migrant worker in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone recently made headlines in the Pingtan Times for his contribution to the construction of a fishing port.
Yang Jianming, a native from Southwest China’s Guizhou province, has been working in Pingtan for three years and has never returned his hometown once during the period.
His wife and two sons have moved with him to the region as he works on the construction of the Dong’ao Central Fishing Port. Designated as a national-level fishing port, it has so-far seen 80 percent of its main construction completed, as of late Jan.
Yang said he was excited to the witness progress of the port on a daily basis and he planned to go back to his hometown with his family to enjoy the Spring Festival.
