Total imports and exports between Fujian and Taiwan reached 76.4 billion yuan ($12.3 billion) in 2014, which is a decrease of 4.2 percent from the previous year, according to Fuzhou Customs.
Fujian’s exports to Taiwan, however, grew by 17.4 percent year on year, said the authority in an annual trade report.
The report shows that the total trade volume in Fujian province last year rose by 3.7 percent year on year to 1.1 trillion yuan.
Exports volume amounted to 697 billion yuan, up by 5.4 percent, which is 0.5 percentage point higher than the national average.
Import volumes climbed by 0.8 percent, 1.5 percentage points higher than the national average, to 393 billion yuan.
The Unites States of America, the European Union, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Taiwan and Hong Kong are the top five trading partners of Fujian province, the report said.
