Former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Peng Peiyun visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) on Dec 2 to investigate its development.

After a brisk tour of the customs checkpoint, a marine passenger terminal in Aoqian town and the duty-free Taiwan Commodity Market, Peng said she was impressed by Pingtan’s blueprint of construction.

The former NPC official was also bullish about the future of Pingtan’s tourism, saying that she hopes Pingtan will improve related facilities to boost the development of the tourism industry.
