Organizers of the 1st National Youth Games plan to recruit 1,630 volunteers in Fuqing county, Fujian province.

The event will be held in Fuzhou city from Oct 18 to 27 next year and some events, such as football and volleyball, will be staged in Fuqing county.

Recruitment of volunteers in Fuqing kicked off earlier this month with 326 needed for the Games and a further 1,304 for jobs related to the event such as traffic coordination, information consultation, medical aid and city culture promotion.

The Fuqing campus of the Fujian Normal University said more than 1,700 students have signed up and the university will select the best of them to take part.

Applications will be accepted until Tuesday. Those interested can sign up at a designated volunteer-training base in the university, or via Wechat (Yuedong Fuzhou) and the Games' official sites (http://1st-youth.fuzhou.gov.cn/ and http://www.helpyou.cn )
