Seven of Fujian’s entrepreneurs have made it into the list of China’s top 100 philanthropists for 2014, according to a recent study report by the Hurun Research Institute.
Xue Xingyuan and his family who own the Xiang Xing Group, a big time luggage maker, leads the group with a donation of 137 million yuan ($22 million). He is ranked 11th on the entire list.
Jack Ma Yun, main founder and chairman of Alibaba Group, China's largest e-commerce business, tops the list with a 14.5 billion yuan worth of donations.
The other listed philanthropists in Fujian are Ou Zongrong, board chairman of Zhenro Group (79 million yuan); Cai Jin’an, chairman of Panpan Food Group (32 million yuan); Xu Lianjie, CEO of Hen’an Group (21 million yuan); Wang Dongxing and Wang Lianxing brothers, who are co-founders of the Lilanz Group (12 million yuan).
