Xiamen was given the title of “National Copyrights Pilot City” by the National Copyright Administration (NCA) on September 17, making it the seventh city nationwide and the first city in Fujian Province to win such an honor.
The decision was announced at the fifth China International Copyright Expo, which was held on September 15-19 in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
Guo Guirong, the deputy mayor of Xiamen, accepted the plaque of honor at the fair. Intelligent property development and copyright protection are always priorities on the city’s agenda. A variety of measures have been adopted in shaping Xiamen into a qualified copyright pilot city since the proposal was approved by the NCA in 2011.
Currently, the city has set copyright protection administrations in all its six districts in assisting the municipal copyright protection organizations such us the Xiamen Copyright Protection Association and the Copyrights Exchange Center of Strait.
Moreover, efforts have also been made in government departments. All offices in government departments nowadays use authorized software.
