A top discipline supervision official of the Communist Party of China in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone has called for action to ensure water supplies for local residents.

Huang Weiqing, Secretary of the Pingtan CPC Disciplinary Committee, made the statement during his inspection of the local water company on April 3.

The company ought to give priority to providing a water supply to the public, accelerate the construction of a new water plant and renovate 13-km of old water pipelines in the downtown area while improving its service, said Huang following the visit.

Huang’s inspection comes in the wake of the second round of the CPC’s “mass line” campaign which asks senior Party officials to have closer contact with the masses and address their needs.
