Fujian's manufacturing sector – which includes a variety of high quality products such as loaders, road rollers, light buses, switchboards and tire vulcanizers - posted 447.2 billion yuan ($73.2 billion) in revenues in 2011.

The local government has made great efforts to build equipment manufacturing bases and industrial parks, supporting pillar industries – such as transportation equipment, construction machinery, electrical appliances and aircraft maintenance - and promoting international cooperation and exchanges in the sector. The provincial authorities also plan to establish a ship building zone along the southeast coastline.
