Meizhou Island

Meizhou Island is situated in the north of Meizhou Bay, 42 kilometers southeast of downtown Putian, Fujian province. Facing Taiwan across the Taiwan Straits, the name Meizhou, or “Eyebrow Island”, comes from its long and narrow shape. It is now a national AAAA tourist site and national resort.

Main tourist attractions on Meizhou Island include Mazu Temple, Goose Tail Hill, Golden Beach, Lotus Pond Beach and the Riwen Stone scenic spot. Among them, Meizhou Mazu Temple has been crowned as the most sacred Mazu temple in the world.
