The opening ceremony of India Culture Week was held on the "Butterfly over Flower" stage at the Xi'an expo on August 15.

Many important guests attended the ceremony including the Mayor of New Delhi Rajni Abbi and her husband Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Roger, the director of India Culture Week organizing committee, the organizers of Xi'an expo, and the mayor of Xi'an city.

Bollywood of India showed a wonderful visual feast for tourists. The audiences were impressed by the graceful dance, the traditional artistry, together with the lively music of Bollywood culture. More than 300 Indian jewelries and 50 sets of clothing were shown during the 30-minute performance, displaying the vibrant colors of Indian culture.

It was the first time Bollywood has performed in Xi'an. The dance was choreographed by Gita Kapoor, a famous director of Dance-India-Dance.

Traditional Indian yoga was also performed by two Indian yoga masters who promoted "Health and better life".

The performances of India Culture Week will continue until August 20. Three shows are held everyday at 11:00~12:00, 16:00~17:00, and 18:00~19:00.
