IKEA, Volvo, Ericsson and SAAB, these popular and well-known enterprises remind us of a creativity and innovation country — Sweden. In March 16, 2009, “Sweden Open Day” was held in the 4th floor of the Third Teaching Building of Yan Chang campus which Shanghai University MBA Center located, with the presence of students from MBA center and other faculties. The delegations of Halmstad University and University West, two institutions from Sweden, took part in the activity with the lead of Director of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ulf Ivarsson from Halmstad University and Director of International Office Ms. Cecilia from University West.
Halmstad University and University West hoped this trip could promote understanding of Sweden's history and culture, further friendship between two countries. In addition, they welcome more Chinese students who yearn for international teaching environment exchange or study for degree courses in Sweden. In the morning of Open Day, Mr. Ulf Ivarsson and Ms. Cecilia gave us overviews of two institutions, apart from that, Directors of Admission Office and Directors of Faculties from both institutions introduced information about recruitment, research and teaching. After lectures, students came to different classrooms to communicate with teachers from two institutions. In the afternoon, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Mr. Guoxiang Zhong met with delegations. Two institutions also visited International Business Management School and Electrical and Mechanical School separately.
As an international project, GLMBA project of Shanghai University MBA Center commits to promote such international exchanges, "Sweden Open Day" is one of the important activities.
