A: Yes. Each city offered by CSA has English-speaking doctors available, when you arrive in china CSA will give you welcome pack with relevant information. Q: I have pre existing health conditions can I get medicines in China?
A: There are pharmacies throughout china offering most medicines. However we strongly recommend that you bring all prescription medication with you before you arrive in China. We also strongly recommend that you bring medical records with you if you have pre-existing health conditions, because for certain medicines prescriptions are required and therefore you will have to go to see a local doctor before you can obtain them and your medical records will help expedite these matters. Again, CSA will be there to help you with any problems you may encounter. Q: Do I need vaccinations to come to China?
A: Yes. We advise all applicants to get vaccinations before leaving for China. We recommend that you check the following vaccinations: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese B Encephalitis, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Typhoid. Q: What clothing should I bring?
A: That is heavily dependant on the time of year you are coming to China and the city in which you are studying. Please refer to each individual city page to see the climate in the city. Also please feel free to contact us at CSA for any further information. Also please don’t panic if you forget anything; all cities offered by CSA have an abundance of stores which sell all manner of clothing.
Q: Are personal toiletries available in china? A: Most things are available in china. However if you prefer certain branded goods e.g., certain types of toothpaste, make up, hair products etc.
Q: How can I do my Laundry? A: Washing machines are available in most apartments; there are Laundromats available in certain areas in the city. There are also laundry services available on student campuses. Q: Can I get dry cleaning done? A: Yes each city has Dry Cleaning services available, again refer to the welcome pack when you arrive, and also feel free to ask a CSA member of staff. Q: What voltage is used in china?
A: The voltage here is 220. Converters and power strips may be purchased locally
Q: Whats the Weather like?
A: This is dependant on the city and time of year, there is more information about weather in the individual city sections on the website. It can be extremely hot and extremely cold, in Beijing the temperature can reach up to 35 degrees Celsius in the summer and –10 in the winter. So please bring appropriate clothing for the city you choose and the time of year you are going to be there. But don’t panic if you forget anything or bring the wrong clothes, there are lots of places you can buy clothes from within China at all price ranges.
