Abstract: Performance evaluation is an important supporting mechanism to the modernization of social governance, which is conducive to forming scientific concepts of social governance, building systematic mechanism, making fine-tuned plans, following the spirit of democracy during the governing process, and fleshing out the security measures, so as ensure a sounder system of social governance in all respects. During the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), as social governance becomes increasingly important in the system of state governance, it is necessary to speed up the improvement of the performance evaluation system of social governance, clarify the evaluation principles in scientific, systematic, fine-tuning, feasibility and continuity aspects, focus on risk prevention, maintaining stability, fostering harmony, promoting fairness and injecting vitality in conducting the performance evaluation, so as to meet people’s increasingly growing demands on social development and strengthen the targeted supply of social values. To this end, we need to perfect the guarantee of the evaluation system, build a long-term effective mechanism, improve the management system, enhance technological supports, consolidate the achievement application, and give full play to the guiding and supporting roles of performance evaluation.
