DRC delegation visits Czech Republic, Croatia, and Serbia

A DRC delegation, led by Vice Director Zhang Junkuo visited the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Serbia by request from September 20 to 29. The delegation aimed to learn about how to enhance cooperation between China and those countries in pursuing the Belt and Road Initiative.

In Czech Republic the delegation met with China-funded enterprises and delivered a report on the current economic situation in China; they also visited government departments and learned about their interest to invest in China. The delegation toured the New Silik Road Institute, a member of SILKS, and other think tanks where they exchanged views on challenges in future cooperation.

In Croatia, the delegation met with Chinese ambassador Hu Zhaoming and learned about Croatia's investment interest in China. They also visited the Ministry of Construction and Space Planning, and exchanged views on trade relationships and cooperation between small and middle-sized enterprises (SMEs) in China and Croatia. The delegation took part in a Geo-economy Forum, a member of SILKS, and exchanged views on governmental exchanges and economic development in China and Croatia, and the Belt and Road Initiative.

In Serbia, the DRC delegation visited the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, and exchanged views on interconnectivity construction between China and Serbia. The delegation went to the Research Institute of International Politics and Economy, where they discussed enhancing cooperation under the framework of the “16+1” platform and the Belt and Road Initiative. At the Center of International Relations and Sustainable Development, a member of SILKS, the delegation talked about SILK’s future work plans with the president of the center.
