The China Development Forum 2012 was held from March 17-19 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

It was sponsored by the Development Research Center of the State Council and themed "China and the World: Macro-Stabilization and Economic Restructuring."

The forum carried out in-depth discussions on the following issues: European economy in the mist; retrospective on the 12th Five-Year Plan; macro policy innovation for stronger growth; encouraging a multi-level financial market; development and opening-up of the service industry; maintaining and improving the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry; new media and cultural and creative industries; dilemma and solutions for the property market; short- and medium-term prospects for the international energy market; new technological developments and green growth; dialogue with urban leaders: China's urbanization and structural adjustment; social welfare and sustainable economic growth; healthcare reform and industry development; international comparison of China's economic and social development; and entrepreneur dialogue: enterprise strategies and cooperation in crisis.

The purpose of the China Development Forum is to listen to the voices of the world and explore a pathway for China's development. It has become an important means for the Chinese government, enterprises and academic institutions to exchange ideas and talk about major issues in China's economic and social development.
