Cheng Guoqiang, director-general of the Information Center of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), and Zhang Hong, vice-director-general, led a research group to Shenzhen to study the operation of the city's health economy from August 14 to 17.

The group had discussions with officials from many local related departments. They listened to an introduction of the city's health industry development, industry plans and industry problems. They also conducted in-depth discussions about the systematic obstacles in the health economy industry. 

The group visited some companies featuring health management, health food, and cutting-edge medical technologies for first-hand information about their development, difficulties and needs.
