Sustainable mobility blueprints for mega-cities is discussed in Beijing

On January 21st 2010, “Roundtable of Sustainable Mobility Blueprints for Mega-cities” was held in Beijing. The meeting was jointly organized by Research Department of Industrial Economy of DRC and Shell China companies. Dr. Feng Fei, Director General of Research Department of Industrial Economy of DRC presented a keynote speech and concluded the roundtable. Mr. Lim Haw-Kuang, Executive Chairman of Shell Companies in China addressed the opening ceremony. Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of DRC’s International Cooperation Department chaired the morning session. Officials and experts from IEA, National Development and Reform Commission, National Energy Administration, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Ministry of Transport, senior managers from multi-national companies like VW, DHL, IBM, as well as officials from city transportation administrations of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Stockholm joined the discussion. Topics of China’s low carbon development and sustainable urbanization pattern, sustainable transport pathways for mega-cities, building smarter mobility, smart grid were discussed at the roundtable.
