On, June 19th, Mr. Zhang Yutai, President of DRC met with Mr. OIKAWA Kozo, Chairman of Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) and his delegation from RIETI. The two sides exchanged views on the economic situation in China and Japan against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, as well as the prospects for the further cooperation between the two organizations. Prior to this meeting, Mr. FUJITA Masahisa, President of RIETI and Prof. WAKASUGI Ryuhei, research counselor of RIETI, made presentations on “Reshaping East Asia and the World Economy in the Wake of Financial Crisis” and “Outward and Inward FDI and Industrial Policy of Japan” respectively in a small workshop participated by counterparts from DRC. Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of International Cooperation Department of DRC chaired the workshop. Mr. Chen Xiaohong, Director General of Enterprise Research Institute, Mr. Lin Jiabin, Deputy Director General of Research Department of Social Development, Mr. Lan Weiban, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department of DRC and other relevant researchers from DRC, as well as officials from Ministry of Commerce, attended the workshop.
