Exchange of international views on 30 Years' reform in China

Thirty Years of Chinese Reform in Global Perspective: Experience and Challenges Ahead Roundtable, co-organized by Department of Macroeconomic Research of DRC and East Asia Bureau of Economic Research, Australia National University(ANU), was convened in Beijing on April 27. Participants included over a dozen of research fellows and officials from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Korea, as well as Chinese officials and scholars from DRC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Party School of CPC Central Committee, Peking University and Tsinghua University, They exchanged views on topics such as China’s experience on economic system reform, Chinese and East Asian comparative experience with structural reform, structural reform in global perspective, etc. Mr. Lu Zhongyuan, DRC Vice President, delivered an opening speech. Prof. Li Junru, Vice President of Party School of Central Committee of CPC, Mr. Yu Bin, Director General of Department of Macroeconomic Research of DRC, Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of DRC’s International Cooperation Department, Prof. Peter Drysdale, Director of East Asia Bureau of ANU, Mr. Gary Banks, Chairman of Australian Productivity Commission, chaired each session of the roundtable respectively.
