China Policy Dialogue on Global Economic Governance & Trade held in Beijing

China Policy Dialogue on Global Economic Governance & Trade was held at the Capital Hotel in Beijing on November 26. The Dialogue was co-organized by DRC’s International Cooperation Department and the International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), in collaboration with Oxford University's Global Economic Governance Programme, and the Graduate Institute for International Studies, Geneva. Heated discussions were carried out at the meeting on the governance of global trade, its trends, challenges and its implications on China. The Dialogue was co-chaired by Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of DRC’s International Department, and Mr. Ricardo Melendez-Ortiz, Chief Executive of ICTSD. Mr. Zhang Xiangchen, Director General of WTO Affairs of Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) delivered a keynote address entitled Reforming Trade Governance: Key Issues for China. Among those who made speeches included Dr. Long Guoqiang, Deputy Director General of DRC’s Department of Foreign Economic Relations, Mr. Cheng Guoqiang, Deputy Director of DRC's Institute of Market Economy, and Mr. Wu Jiahuang, Vice Chairman of China WTO Research Society, as well as the experts and representatives from Britain, France and Canada. The organization of the Dialogue was highly valued by the participants.
