2007-07-13
At the invitation of International Cooperation Department of DRC and the Conference Board, Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics Dr. Douglass C. North visited DRC on July 13th, 2007. Pondering over the question of how can China’s institutional structure keep the continuous strong momentum of economic growth, Dr. North had frank and in-depth discussions with DRC researchers, who try to find answers and enlightenments from theories of institutional economics on existing and potential issues in China’s Development. The heated debates and interactive exchanges of thinking left all with better understanding of the institutional change theories and China’s development. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Li Jiange, Vice President of DRC and attended by over 70 researchers.
