The 13th Sino-French Economic Symposium-Managers in China in the 21 Century, co-sponsored by DRC, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and France China Committee, was held in Beijing from April 10 to 11,2007. Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan and Former French President Giscard d’Estaing delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. DRC Vice President Sun Xiaoyu also made remarks at the opening ceremony. Director General Sun Lanlan of DRC’s International Cooperation Department presided over the Round Table entitled “Enterprise Management in China: Changes and Prospects”. Business leaders, prestigious scholars and relevant officials from both countries held extensive discussions on management and human resources development models and their relevancy to Chinese culture and its market economic system. About 500 delegates attended the conference.
