The Stilwell swamp is expected to be billed as a worldwide holiday town, according to the planning briefing of Mangshi’s new integrated quality demonstration area on November 28.

The Stilwell swamp is located in Zhefang, Mangshi city, 68km away from the business district of Mangshi and 36 km from Ruili city. There are core viewing resources like banyan forests and pagodas, three river systems of Long River, Mangshi River and Ruili River, plateau swamps, valleys, hot springs, folk villages and so on.

The overall area of this project is 42.5 square km, 1000mu for the first phase. It will take Stilwell swamp as its core, radiating throughout the adjoining tourism area. Relying on the inviting natural environment and the innovative tourism model of the swamp, this project will build a multi-functional and international highly-qualified holiday complex, with eco-tourism, sports tourism and theme tours as its main tourism products.

According to the plan, there will be 7.9 square km of swamp, 8 times the original one of 1401 mu (close to 1 square km), which does good for the swamp.
