Recently, a research group composed of officials and experts from the Yunnan Development and Reform Commission and the Yunnan Institute of Forest Inventory and Planning inspected the oil tea bases in Lianghe county, Yingjiang county and Longchuan county.

The research group spoke highly of the local government’s achievements in breeding improved seeds, popularizing breeding technology, constructing improved seed bases and planting demonstration bases, pushing forward the development of the oil tea industry.

With an advantage in climatic and forestland resources and a long history of oil tea planting, Dehong is the perfect place for oil tea industry, said the research group. As an important part of the Yunnan oil tea industry, the oil tea industry in Dehong will gain support from the Yunnan provincial government. The research group hoped that the local Development and Reform Department and Forestry Bureau would develop the oil tea industry into a pillar industry to serve the local area’s economic development.
