SEOUL, June 25 (Xinhua) -- South Korea on Thursday reported one more case of infection with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and two deaths, bringing the total contagion cases to 180 and the death toll to 29, the health ministry said.
The patient 180 was infected while having been hospitalized for five days through June 12 at a hospital in Busan, the country's second-largest city, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Two more patients passed away, raising the fatality rate to 16. 1 percent.
Seven more patients were discharged from hospitals as they completely recovered after being infected. The total discharge number increased to 74.
Excluding the dead and those discharged, those under treatment declined from 85 on Wednesday to 77 Thursday. Among them, 15 patients are in unstable conditions.
Those quarantined reduced from 3,103 on Wednesday to 2,642 on Thursday.
