Wenjiang holds first inter-departmental chess competition

Wenjiang's first Chinese chess tournament for government department employees kicked off on Oct 22, with more than 100 players, coaches and representatives attending the opening ceremony.

Wenjiang government staff members have previously taken part in a basketball league match, a volleyball league and a badminton team competition.

The contest will run for half a month and consist of individual and team events.

In recent years, Wenjiang has become committed to promoting sports and cultural activities, using its own staff as an example for others. The games aim to enrich the sport and cultural life of government staff members, stimulate positive energy and improve the culture of departments by creating a united and uplifting atmosphere.
