Wenjiang promotes Entrepreneurship and Innovation week

To promote Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week, which started on Oct 9, Wenjiang will hold a series of themed activities, including a meeting for people to share their experiences in agricultural entrepreneurship, road show for the Venture Capital Alliance of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), China innovation competition and a visit to Chengdu Medical City.
The agricultural entrepreneurship meeting, which will be held on Oct 15, will invite experts in rural entrepreneurship and innovation to share their ideas and experiences in starting up new businesses and innovating in rural areas.

The road show for the Venture Capital Alliance of UESTC aims to build a platform for entrepreneurship and innovation for university students and further promote the cooperation between Wenjiang district and UESTC.
Wenjiang is actively exploring university talent resources with help from the government and enterprises. Wenjiang has cooperated with 16 domestic and overseas universities, such as Harvard University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Sichuan University, to build R&D platforms, industrial parks (bases) and technological enterprises by training talent, raising funds and setting up innovation unions.
Wenjiang is speeding up innovation and the construction of GMP standard workshops to meet enterprise needs. It has designated 870,000 square meters of land for innovation and another 450,000 square meters are under construction. It is expected to build another two million square meters within the next five years.

In recent years, Wenjiang has provided professional services for mass entrepreneurship and innovation. It has implemented supporting policies for Chengdu Medical City and high-level talents and has reformed policy regarding technological achievements.
There are more than 20 universities and colleges in Wenjiang with 37 scholars and 150,000 talents in technological innovation. Wenjiang has set up an expert consultation committee composed of 37 Nobel prize winners and famous scholars, which has attracted 8,040 young talents to Wenjiang.
Wenjiang focuses on the development of the biopharmaceutical industry as it hopes to become a nationally and globally recognized health industry base. Wenjiang will invite experts and entrepreneurs to visit and inspect Chengdu Medical City during Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week, showcasing its achievements in entrepreneurship and innovation to attract business investment.
