Wenjiang celebrates first Farmers' Harvest Festival

A rural revitalization summit was held in Shouan town, Wenjiang on Sept 21 to celebrate the first Farmers' Harvest Festival.
The festival will be held each year on the autumnal equinox of the lunar calendar, which fell on Sept 21 this year. It celebrates the harvest and recognizes achievements in rural reform.
Officials of Wenjiang gathered together and shared opinions on rural revitalization. According to Chen Jiaze, academic adviser of the Chengdu Academy of Social Sciences, rural revitalization policies should be adjusted according to local conditions in order to increase local income.

Others shared entrepreneurship stories, discussed the regional situation, and explored new means of rural revitalization.
Wenjiang's distinctive agricultural products, such as garlic, soy sauce, crunchy candy and rice wine, were put on display at the festival, along with handicrafts including Sichuan embroidery products, silk scarfs and walnut music boxes.
The exhibition of local specialties embodied Wenjiang's agricultural society and motivated farmers to further develop the agricultural industry.
