Orchid festival attracts visitors to Wenjiang district

The 15th Chengdu Orchid Exhibition and Orchid Fair was held in Wenjiang district, Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, on Feb 28.

This year's event has placed thousands of potted orchid flowers of various kinds on display and for trade. One hundred pots of rare varieties of orchids were on show, and many won prizes awarded by the organization committee.

Florists from Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Sichuan provinces took part in the exhibition, which attracted more than 50,000 visitors.

Last year's event had a volume of trade exceeding 38 million yuan ($5.8 million).
